Cindy and Dean Walter of Liberal announce the engagement of their daughter, Peggy Johnston, to Michael G. Mages, son of Elsie and Cletus Mages of Ashland. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Glen Stoterau of Hartley, Iowa. She is a 1993 graduate of Liberal High School. She attended Seward County Community College, Liberal, from 1993-1995. She is a 1997 graduate of Colby Community College with an associate of applied science degree. She is employed by Clinics of North Texas, Wichita Falls, Texas, as a physical therapist assistant.

Her fiancé is the grandson of Leo Mages of Spearville and Mary Serviss of Lamont, Okla. He is a 1988 graduate of Thomas More Prep School, Hays. He is a graduate of Colby Community College with an Associate of Science degree and a 1994 graduate of Ft. Hays State University with a Bachelor of Science and Biology degree. He currently attends Mid-western State University, Wichita Falls, to receive a Masters degree in public administration with a certificate in health care. He is employed by North Texas Rehabilitation Center, Wichita Falls, as a physical therapist assistant.

The couple has planned a wedding for 7:30 p.m. May 5, 2001 at Sacred Heart Church in Wichita Falls.
